Yes, Indian students can get 100% (fully funded) scholarships to study in New Zealand. One of the main options is the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship.
Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships
This is a fully funded government program open to students from specific developing countries, and India is on the list. This scholarship covers:
➣ 100% of tuition fees
➣ Living allowance/stipend (around NZ$531 per week)
➣ Return economy airfare between India and New Zealand
➣ Settling-in allowance
➣ Medical and travel insurance
Check out to find Eligibility for these scholarships and to Apply Online.
University Doctoral Scholarships (PhD Focus)
In addition to government schemes like Manaaki, New Zealand universities provide fully funded scholarships for Doctoral (PhD) research degrees. These are open to international students, including those from India, and are mainly merit-based.
These usually include:
➣ Full tuition fee coverage
➣ Living stipend (NZ$32,000–NZ$34,600 per year)
➣ Health insurance
➣ Funding for 36–42 months
The duration you can stay in New Zealand after completing your course is determined by the Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV). You must apply for this visa as your student visa expires shortly after graduation. The duration of the PSWV depends on the qualification you completed.
Bachelor’s Degree (Level 7), Master’s, or PhD – If you successfully graduate with a Bachelor’s degree (Level 7) or any qualification at a higher level (Master’s or PhD), you are generally eligible for a three-year Post-Study Work Visa with open work rights.
For qualifications below a Bachelor’s degree (non-degree Level 7 or lower) – The PSWV is typically granted for the same length of time as your study, often one year, and your employment must be related to your field of study.
Requirements & Stay-Back Duration
➣ Maximum Stay-Back: Up to three years on a Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV).
➣ Open Work Rights: Available to those who complete a New Zealand Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree.
➣ Minimum Study: You must have studied full-time for at least 30 weeks in New Zealand for your degree-level qualification.
➣ Application Deadline: Must apply within three months of your student visa expiring (or six months if you are a PhD graduate).
➣ Funds Requirement: Show proof of at least NZ$5,000 for initial living expenses while searching for a job.
➣ Lower Qualifications: If you complete a qualification lower than a Bachelor’s degree, the PSWV is usually for one year.
It is possible to get Permanent Residence (PR) in New Zealand after graduation. Your Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV) gives you the time to work toward residency. The most important step after graduation is finding a full-time job that is considered skilled and with an Accredited Employer in New Zealand.
Your eligibility for a Resident Visa (the first step toward PR) is decided through two systems:
a. Skilled Migrant Category (SMC)
This is a points-based system where you need 6 points to apply. Points can be claimed from:
Qualification Points (3–6 points):
➣ PhD (Level 10): 6 points
➣ Master’s Degree (Level 9): 5 points
➣ Bachelor’s Degree (Level 7): 3 points
Additional Points (if needed):
➣ High Income: Earning above the median wage
➣ New Zealand Work Experience: 1 point per year of skilled work in NZ (up to 3 years)
“Example: A Master’s graduate (5 points) needs only 1 more point (e.g., 1 year of skilled work) to reach the 6-point minimum and apply for residency.”
b. Green List Pathway (Fast-Track)
If your job is on New Zealand’s Green List of in-demand occupations (IT, Engineering, Health, etc.), you have a faster route:
➣ Straight-to-Residence (Tier 1): Apply for a Resident Visa almost immediately if your job is on the list (e.g., Software Engineer, Civil Engineer, Specialist Doctors).
➣ Work-to-Residence (Tier 2): Apply for a Resident Visa after 2 years of work in other highly-needed roles.
From Resident Visa to Permanent Resident Visa (PRV)
Once you are granted a Resident Visa and have lived in New Zealand for at least 2 years, meeting all residency commitments (such as continued employment or having close ties), you can then apply for the Permanent Resident Visa (PRV), which has no travel restrictions.

For every aspiring student who dreams of being a Doctor, MBBS is a big step to take. It is increasingly popular amongst Indian students to pursue their MBBS in Europe due to the affordability, education, and career opportunities the courses provide. European medical universities are all about variety and exposure with their new infrastructure, learning experience, and highly regarded degree options.
If you want to become a doctor, then what better experience than learning abroad, growing your network, and also having the freedom to explore new places – it will be a lifetime opportunity that you won’t regret.
If you are looking for the best option for “Study MBBS in Europe as an Indian Student”, we got you covered. Europe continues to be one of the most preferred and academically strong destinations for students planning to study MBBS abroad.
One of the main reasons Indian students choose MBBS in Europe is the high quality of education. European medical universities have a good reputation for having high academic standards, high medical research, and practical training. Many of these universities are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and are recognised by prestigious organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI), now the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The costs of pursuing an MBBS degree in Europe are much lower than what private medical colleges in India charge. Studying MBBS in Moldova, Georgia, Romania, Poland, and Latvia offers affordable tuition fees along with quality education. A lot of cities also have low costs of living, that enables students to sustain adequately while studying.
Unlike in India, where students must clear the highly competitive NEET exam with top ranks to secure a seat in government medical colleges, many European universities have a simpler admission process. Most institutions do not require entrance exams or donation fees, making it easier for students to gain admission based on their academic performance and passion for medicine.
Studying MBBS in Europe exposes students to a multicultural learning environment where they interact with peers from various countries. This diverse atmosphere helps students develop cross-cultural communication skills, adaptability, and a global perspective, which are essential qualities for a successful medical career. It also enhances networking opportunities and broadens career prospects in different parts of the world.
Many European universities offer MBBS programs in English, eliminating the need to learn an additional language for academic purposes. The curriculum is designed to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical training, clinical exposure, and research opportunities. Medical students gain hands-on experience in well-equipped hospitals and clinics, preparing them for real-world medical challenges.
An MBBS degree from a European university opens up a world of career opportunities. Graduates can pursue medical licensure exams such as USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), AMC (Australia), and FMGE (India) to practice medicine in various countries. The strong academic foundation, coupled with international exposure, makes European medical graduates highly sought after by healthcare institutions worldwide.

Germany has specifically become one of the most sought-after options for Indian students wanting vocational education, that is affordable and career-orientated.
One of the most remarkable pathways available is the Ausbildung courses in Germany programme—a unique blend of classroom education and hands-on experience that leads directly to a skilled career.
Ausbildung courses in Germany are vocational training programmes designed to prepare students for specific professions through a dual system of education. This means you’ll spend time both in a vocational school (Berufsschule) and at a company as an apprentice. These programmes are generally completed over a period of two to three and a half years, depending on the field of training and prior qualifications.
Courses are available in a wide range of fields, including:
One of the defining features of Ausbildung courses is their structured approach to professional training. Students earn a monthly stipend throughout the duration of the programme and gain real-world experience that directly correlates to employment opportunities.
Opting for an Ausbildung course in Germany offers numerous advantages, particularly for Indian students who are looking for a practical and financially viable route to employment in Europe.
Upon successful completion, students are often offered full-time employment contracts by the very companies they trained with. This is especially significant in Germany, where there is a strong demand for skilled workers in various industries.
Unlike conventional university degrees, Ausbildung students receive a monthly stipend ranging from €800 to €1,200. This income helps cover living expenses, thereby reducing financial dependency.
Most Ausbildung programmes are free of cost, particularly in public institutions. The absence of tuition fees makes it a budget-friendly option, especially when compared to universities in other countries.
On completion, students receive a state-recognised qualification, highly valued not only in Germany but across Europe. It can also serve as a stepping stone to further studies or specialisation.
Graduates of Ausbildung programmes are eligible to apply for work visas and potentially permanent residency after a few years of full-time employment. This makes the programme particularly attractive for those seeking long-term prospects in Europe.
Living and working in Germany helps students integrate into German society. Most programmes also offer intensive language support, making the transition smoother and more inclusive.
As one of India’s leading overseas education consultancies, we at Campus Abroad Educational Services L.L.P offer unparalleled support for students aspiring to pursue Ausbildung courses in Germany. Denmark is emerging as a favoured choice for Indian students because of their high-quality education system and innovative delivery and teaching methodologies. Denmark has developed a reputation internationally for providing critical thinking, collaborative learning, and research-led teaching that engenders innovation as opposed to memorization and repetition of knowledge. Such an ethos appeals to Indian students who want to contribute positively to the world in the fields they select.
Denmark, as a less traditional destination, offers a different study experience than elsewhere. Firstly, Danish universities have interdisciplinary forms of research at their core, project-based learning that is assessed, and an opportunity to have practical experiences. The academic units at universities are accessible in that they provide students with not only theoretical bases but skills that prepare them for the rapidly moving, changing job market and population. Contemporary trends related to sustainability, digital disruption, and design thinking are key considerations at Danish institutions of higher education, and so the products of Denmark’s education align perfectly with the global market for future-focused individuals.
Danish universities serve students under academic inclusion, where the breadth of students who contribute to higher education is diverse.
Denmark offers a well-balanced, secure, and progressive society. It is consistently ranked among the safest and happiest countries in the world. Indian students particularly appreciate how welcoming and inclusive Danish society is when they are so far from their homes. In Denmark’s stable political climate with low crime rates and a public health system regarded as one of the best in the world, students can solely concentrate on their studies.
Denmark encourages students to have a balanced work and study life. While they are studying, students can also work part-time, and with available options to work in Denmark after their studies, they gain international work experience in leading industries like green energy, biotechnology, IT, and design. These aspects not only contribute to their education but long-lasting career development and global employability.
Studying abroad is undoubtedly a financial commitment, but Denmark remains a cost-effective choice compared to other Western nations.
The tuition fees are quite reasonable, and many institutions have scholarship options that are available for both merit and need. In addition, or funded financial assistance options via the Danish Government Scholarships and Erasmus Mundus routes ease the financial burden.
Students have the added benefit of Denmark’s structured and predictable living expenses. With the country’s strong public infrastructure, discounts available for students, and student accommodation, it helps students manage their daily lives without too much pressure on their budgets.

Once that is accomplished, we provide guiding support for the process of documentation, application essays, and Statements of Purpose (SOPs), ensuring each aspect reflects the applicant’s abilities.
We can also provide intensive training or preparation for standardised tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, and SAT with training modules that are specific and considerate of individual strengths and weaknesses. Alongside the above, we can assist in all financial documentation and scholarship sourcing, and assist you with your educational loans.

Germany has become one of the most popular study destinations for international students. Every year, thousands of young people from India, Asia, Africa, and beyond choose Germany for its world-class universities, globally recognised degrees, and affordable tuition compared with countries like the USA or UK.
But affordability in terms of tuition is only one part of the story. Living in cities such as Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, or Hamburg comes with expenses for rent, food, transport, and healthcare. This is where Part-time Jobs in Germany often help students to be able to support themselves while going to university.
Beyond financial assistance, Part-time jobs also open an exposure to German culture, opportunities to strengthen language skills, and gain valuable work experience that contributes to their long-term career growth. With proper planning, students can effectively balance both academic demands and employment.
Looking for part-time jobs in Germany as an international student can often be confusing at first, especially with differences in the country’s culture, work style & and language. Fortunately, Germany has a structured process, and there are many reliable ways to find work while studying.
A good place to start is on university job boards. Almost every university in Germany has job boards or career service portals where part-time openings are posted. Common job roles include library assistant, administrative assistant, or research assistant in an academic department. These jobs are often the best options since they offer flexible hours, often working around class schedules.
Websites such as Indeed, StepStone, and Studentenwerk are often used throughout Germany. Those portals list a variety of part-time jobs in hospitality, customer service, logistics, and delivery services—popular choices for international students.
In student-friendly cities, you may also find local businesses like cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and retail shops post vacancies right outside their stores. In some cases, the easiest way to get a job is to simply walk in and introduce yourself!.
Even without fluent German, many students are successful in securing these jobs thanks to their willingness to approach employers face-to-face.
Networking is a powerful tool that you can use everywhere. Student associations, university clubs and cultural groups, and even discussions with peers often uncover jobs that are not circulated in conventional advertising spaces. Colleagues often find jobs through the nexus of connections between them; thus, developing your social network as early as possible is a great idea.

Choosing to study abroad is an exhilarating decision for students. A chance to receive a world-class education, exposure to diverse cultures, and experience unique life experiences that will shape your career and character. Inevitably, almost every student will encounter challenges while studying abroad, whether they pursue engineering, business, or choose to study MBBS abroad. These experiences often feel overwhelming at first, but open up growth opportunities.
So the main question that arises should be, are these challenges really setbacks—or could they be stepping stones toward personal growth and resilience?
Overcoming these difficulties while studying abroad includes building independence, adaptability, and confidence. With the right mindset and preparation, these challenges can transform into valuable lessons that enrich both academic and personal journeys.
Adjusting to a new education system can be confusing and feel disconcerting at first. Teaching styles, grading methods, and classroom expectations often differ from what students are used to back home. For example, A student moving from India to Germany, for instance, may find that lectures demand greater independence, self-study, and original research. Those heading to the US or the UK may face heavy emphasis on class participation, essay writing, and critical thinking.
While some countries emphasize independent research and self-study, others may expect active class participation and critical discussion. Balancing assignments, exams, and deadlines can initially be stressful, but with effective time management and with use of campus resources, students often discover new strengths and skills that benefit their future careers.
How does it feel to suddenly step into a world? For many international students, adapting to a new culture is one of the biggest adjustments they must make alongside their academic journey. From Food, language, social norms, and traditions, all can feel quite strange at first. Some students find it especially hard to make friends at first because they may be shy or because of the language barriers that exist.
Yet, these challenges can enrich life in ways that staying home never could. Imagine celebrating festivals from another part of the world, or discovering a new cuisine that later becomes your favourite comfort food. By embracing new cultures and seeking out communities of both local and international friends, students create a sense of belonging that makes their stay more fulfilling.
Managing money should be the most practical concern for international students. Tuition, accommodation, food, travel, and living expenses can seem overwhelming. At times, students may also compare themselves to students who spend their pocket money(provided by their parents), which may feel difficult to reconcile.
The most important part to avoid these things is through planning. Budgeting expenses, finding a part-time job(where the visa allows), and applying for scholarships are great ways to alleviate some financial stress. Over time, these practices not only reduce pressure but also build valuable life skills in money management.
Can studying abroad also strengthen your emotional well-being? While moving away from home is exciting, it can also lead to other moments of solitude and away from family and support structures. For some students, being remote can feel lonely. The pressure of academics and finances may feel challenging, but prioritizing mental health is just as important as focusing on studies. This is why Students living abroad should always be aware of mental health.
Seeking support from university counsellors, joining student clubs, and staying connected with loved ones can help maintain balance. Overcoming these challenges often builds resilience, independence, and emotional strength that lasts well beyond the academic journey. Students return home not just with a degree, but with the strength that carries into every area of their lives.
Can better planning really make the transition smoother? Absolutely. Students who prepare before leaving—by researching their university, understanding cultural expectations, and creating a study plan—find it easier to adjust. Those who are good at time management will make it easier to balance assignments, part-time jobs, and create a work-study-life balance.
How does adaptability turn challenges into opportunities? Adaptability is a key element for survival and success abroad. Being open to new customs, adjusting study methods, and even learning a local language can make a huge difference. Most study abroad recommendations say to keep an open mind because adaptability is what differentiates challenges from unforgettable experiences.
Managing finances wisely allows students to reduce stress. Budgeting, applying for scholarships, and using student discounts all help make the study abroad life more affordable. Many students who were worried at first realize the independence of managing their finances on their own.
Studying abroad comes with academic, cultural, financial, and emotional challenges—but these very challenges are what make the journey more exciting and engaging. With the right mindset and preparation, they build independence, resilience, and opportunities that shape a student’s future.
So common questions arise in the minds of students and parents.
–> Is studying abroad risky?
–> How hard is it to be an international student?
–> What do students struggle with the most?
The truth is, with proper guidance, the journey becomes far smoother and more rewarding. This is where you need the help of a trustable study abroad consultant.

Applying for a Student Visa in Italy is one of the important steps toward studying abroad in Italy, but it requires careful preparation and attention to detail. Every year, students from around the world get attracted to Italy’s vibrant culture and prestigious universities. But note that the visa process can be more complex than it appears. Italian universities follow strict guidelines to ensure applicants are academically eligible, financially stable, and genuinely committed to studying in Italy. From accurate documents and proof of funds to valid insurance and a return plan, every detail matters. Missing or incorrect information can cause delays or rejection, so knowing the process in advance keeps you confident and prepared.
1. Criminal Record
Applicants must have a clean legal history. Serious offenses or ongoing legal issues can lead to automatic rejection. Police clearance certificates or equivalent documents are required to prove eligibility and reliability.
2. Insufficient Funds
You must showcase the funds to cover tuition, accommodation, and living expenses. Bank statements, sponsorship letters, or other financial documents should clearly show steady and sufficient funds. Inadequate evidence can result in visa refusal.
3. Previous Immigration Violations
Past overstays, deportations, or unauthorized work in any country can negatively impact your application. It’s essential to be honest about previous travel issues and provide explanations when necessary.
4. Incomplete or Unclear Financial Support
Partial funding or unexplained deposits may trigger rejection. Ensure your finances clearly cover your full study period and that all supporting documents are properly formatted.
5. Expired or Invalid Passport
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your study program. Expired, damaged, or incorrectly filled passports are common reasons for visa denial.
6. Missing Documents
Even a single missing form, signature, or required document—such as academic records, language certificates, or SOPs—can result in refusal. Double-check that all paperwork is complete and correctly submitted.
7. Insufficient Travel Insurance
Italy requires valid health and travel insurance covering the entire stay. Lack of adequate insurance can lead to visa rejection and leave students unprotected while abroad.
Italy is one of the most accessible European countries for international students. On average, student visa approval rates range between 85% and 92%, while the rejection rate is around 8%–15%, depending on factors such as nationality, documentation quality, and according to the guidelines given. Proper preparation, complete documentation, and following the application requirements can significantly improve your chances of approval. For studying MBBS abroad in 2026, the most critical factors are strict adherence to FMGL Regulations 2021 and passing the NEET exam, as these are mandatory for practicing in India. You must choose universities with English-medium courses and a curriculum that aligns with Indian standards, followed by a mandatory 12-month internship at the same foreign medical institution (not just the same country).
Have all required documents ready, including your NEET scorecard, and be prepared for a second mandatory internship in India after passing the NExT exam.
Now, in more detail to understand, our blog covers the information students need to pursue MBBS abroad, including eligibility, required documents, top universities, scholarships, NEET rules, FMGL regulations, internships, and important admission criteria for Indian students.
MBBS abroad is a practical option for Indian students because it is more affordable, with lower tuition fees and no high capitation charges. Many foreign medical universities have modern infrastructure, standard laboratories, and advanced equipment that meet global training requirements. Students receive early clinical practice and study in varied academic settings, which helps in understanding different medical systems. After completing the course and clearing the mandatory licensing exams, medical graduates are eligible to apply for medical practice in India or other countries.
Important Considerations
NMC Compliance (National Medical Commission): Many foreign medical degrees are internationally recognized (including WHO – World Health Organization listings). However, to practice in India, the entire MBBS program must strictly follow the NMC’s FMGL Regulations 2021 (Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021).
To apply for MBBS abroad, Indian students must follow the eligibility rules set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) under the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations.
Age Requirement
Students must pass the 12th grade (or equivalent) from a recognized board with required marks in the core subjects:
Minimum Marks Required:
NEET Qualification
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) qualification is mandatory for all Indian students who plan to study MBBS abroad.
Medical Fitness Certificate
To pursue MBBS abroad, Indian students must have a valid NEET scorecard (mandatory for NMC) and all necessary academic and personal documents for university admission and the student visa.
Choosing the right country for MBBS abroad is extremely important for Indian students, as this decision must align with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines under the FMGL Regulations 2021. Countries preferred by Indian students are those that provide a fully NMC-compliant course structure, good academic standards, safety, and a clear and legitimate pathway to obtain medical licensure.
Medical programs for international batches in Egypt are conducted in English, and admission is based on NEET qualification and academic eligibility. An MBBS Admission Consultant supports students through the complex process of securing a medical seat abroad. Providing accurate and up-to-date information on global medical education, including compliance with the latest NMC FMGL regulations. Providing strategic counseling, matching the student’s academic profile, budget, and goals with NMC-approved universities worldwide, and reducing the risk of enrollment in non-compliant or unrecognized programs.
With over 15+ years of experience and official recognition from the Government of India and KHDA Dubai, Campus Abroad Educational Services has successfully guided 1,000+ students to secure MBBS admissions across 30+ countries. Our counselors provide personalized guidance at every step and assist students in selecting universities recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India and the World Health Organization (WHO).
In addition to admission support, we provide financial counseling and specialized training for:
1. What is the NMC FMGE test?
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is the mandatory screening test for Indian citizens who have obtained a medical degree abroad. Passing this exam is required to gain provisional or permanent registration to practice medicine in India.
The FMGE is gradually being replaced by the National Exit Test (NExT). Once implemented, NExT will serve as a common qualifying exam, licentiate test, and postgraduate entrance exam for all medical graduates, whether trained in India or abroad. Until the full transition, the FMGE remains the current licensing exam for foreign medical graduates.
2. Which Country Is Safest for MBBS Abroad?
Safety is assessed based on low crime rates, political stability, and support for international students. Countries in Central and Eastern Europe (e.g., Georgia, Romania) and parts of Asia (e.g., Uzbekistan) are considered highly safe due to low crime rates and student-friendly services.
When choosing a country:
3. Is a European MBBS Valid in India?
A European MBBS/MD degree is recognized in India only if it fully complies with the NMC FMGL Regulations 2021.
Important compliance requirements include:
Since the curriculum abroad may differ from the Indian syllabus, most graduates take FMGE/NExT coaching to prepare for the licensing exam and align their clinical knowledge with Indian standards.
Choosing to study MBBS in Europe can be a great option for Indian students when you select NMC-compliant universities. If you’d like to know more, do check out our blog “Benefits of Studying MBBS in Europe for Indian Students.”
